Or, the ship’s hostess will take passengers on a walk around the town. A welcome drink is served in the ship’s lounge during the introduction of the crew. This is followed by dinner on board. The ship departs Koblenz early and begins sailing south while breakfast is served on board. Today, you will view the most beautiful part of the Romantic Rhine River. From Koblenz to Rudesheim, lush vineyards surround picturesque wine towns while castles are seen perched high above the Rhine River Valley. It is possibly the most beautiful part of Germany. After lunch on board, and towards the end of the sailing day, you will pass the fabled Loreley Rock. Arrival in Rudesheim is scheduled for 4:00 PM. Shortly after docking, a minitrain picks up cruise passengers for an optional tour that takes them around Rudesheim to see this charming wine town. There will be a winetasting of the local product and a tour of the Siegfried Musical Instrument Museum. Arrival is back at the ship in time for dinner on board. Overnight is in Rudesheim and we highly recommend that you go into town after dinner to sample the nightlife on the famous street called the Drosselgasse.
